Notes to Participants

1. Physical Conditions

Participants should be aware of and understand the risks involved in taking part in his/her race, and acknowledge the degree of fitness required to take part therein.

Any person who is pregnant or suffering from any chronic disease such as heart disease or high blood pressure should not participate in the Event. The Organiser reserves the rights to disallow / disqualify any person who is known to have the above condition. The Organiser at its sole discretion also has the rights to suspend any participant who appears or is suspected to be physically unfit to participate in the Event.

All participants are urged to seek medical advice of their physical condition before participating in the Event. By submitting his / her application to take part in the Event, and subsequently taking part in the Event, a participant

(a)  warrants and confirms to the Organiser that he/she is physically fit to participate in and complete his/her race
without any medical or other assistance; and
(b)  agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Organiser from
i) any injury or death suffered by the participant himself/herself or any other persons; and
ii) any damage to property as a result of him/her not being physically fit to participate in and complete the race.

2. Timing Chip and No. Bib:

(a) No timing chip & number bib will be distributed on race day.
(b) The timing chip is adhered at the back of the number bibs, the chip MUST NOT be twisted or folded, such that the chip will be damaged and malfunction, no result will be available for the runner.
(c) Participants should wear their number bibs in front of their chests, so the officials can identify their numbers easily; otherwise, the Organizer reserves the right to disqualify the participants who fail to do so.
(d) Number bibs and the chips are non-transferable. In case of any dishonest behaviour, participants will be disqualified and the Organizer will reject their applications for future Organizer’s events.
(e) To assist the Organizer and medical personnel to contact participants’ relatives or friends in case of emergency, participants are requested to fill in their personal details on the back side of their race number bibs (Participant’s name, emergency contact person and phone number) with waterproof ink.
(f) Please keep the timing chip and number bib appropriately. Those items will not reissue.

3. Baggage Storage Service

(a) Baggage Storage Area will be provided. However, participants are advised not to bring any valuable item on the day. The organizer will not be responsible for any loss of personal property.
(b) Baggage Storage Area will collect baggage after 7:30am;
(c) Baggage storage service will be closed at 12:00pm. Participants should collect their belongings before the closing time.

4. Route Alteration

The Organiser reserves the right to change or alter any parts of the running route before and during the race without prior notice in the event of unexpected road conditions or emergency. A race may be temporarily suspended for emergency or any other incidents during the race. Participants must follow the instructions of race officials or any law enforcement officers on site, in the event of emergency or any incident.

5. Instructions Given by Race Officials

Instructions given by the Organiser and race officials must be followed with respect to all matters not provided herein. The Organiser reserves the right to reject future applications of a participant who has refused to follow instructions of the race officials for all future races organised by the Organiser.

6. No Shortcut

All participants must follow the race course as it is marked. Participants will be disqualified if they are found running shortcut.

7. Result Announcement & Certificate

(a) The Prize Presentation lists will be announced on race day. Electronic Certificates will be issued to participants who complete within the specified time limit.
(b) The full set official result and the details of E-Certificate will be posted & can be downloaded on the website within 1 week after the race.

8. Prize Presentation

Prize Presentation Ceremony will be held at about 11:00am. All winners are required to assemble at the Prize Presentation Area on time. If any winner is unable to attend the prize presentation ceremony, please inform the organizer before the start of the ceremony.

9. Disqualification

The Organiser reserves the right to disqualify any person and nullify his or her result due to any violation, breach or non-observance of any laws or regulations in Hong Kong, International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) Competition Rules or the Official Competition Rules set for the Event. The Organiser shall not be obliged to refund any entry fee under such circumstance.

10. Appeal

Each appeal relating to prize winners must be made in writing within 30 minutes after the announcement of the result, after that no appeal will be handled.

11. Adverse Weather

(a) If Red /Black Rainstorm or Tropical Cyclone Signal No. 8 is in force, or other cause which could endanger racer’s safety at 5 am, the race will be cancelled.
(b) In case of event cancellation due to adverse weather or other reasons, NO refund will be arranged to participants.
(c) Race day emergency contact number is only effective on race date, from 5 am – 12 nn: 54711974. Please check if there is any special arrangement on the Race Facebook Page at 5 am.

12. Event Cancellation

Should the Event be cancelled due to weather or other circumstances beyond the control of the Organiser or in the case of a force majeure resulting in the Event being cancelled, no refund will be made. The Organiser shall have no other responsibilities and/or liabilities.

13. Insurance

The organizer will cover the Insurance of Public Liability only. Participants should be responsible for their own Personal Accident Insurance.

14. Terms & Conditions and Official Rules

Upon submitting his/her application and payment of the entry fee, an applicant declares that he/she agrees to and accept the Terms & Conditions, the Official Competition Rules and all other rules and regulations which may be adopted by the Organiser from time to time.

15. Languages

Terms and Conditions are in Chinese and English. In the case of discrepancies between the Chinese and English versions, the English version shall prevail. The Organiser reserves the right to interpret and amend the above rules.
